I love this song by Hillsong United.  The music is amazing and the lyrics are outstanding.

This is one of those songs that seems to get better each time I hear it.  Many feel as if they are just about to go under the waves, but God can restore each of us no matter how deep the water is that we are in.  If we trust in God then we are able to go further that we ever thought possible.  To hear this song click here (just click on skip ad).

Song - Wide River to Cross

The sound hits me first then I listen intently.  When the music, voice & lyrics are in perfect unison then I have heard a profound song.  I don't listen to bluegrass that often, but I do like this type of music.  My favorite lines are "But I'm just a refugee, won't you say a prayer for me? & 'Cause sometimes even the strongest soldier falls."  I love most types of music, but mostly I listen to Christian.  I like uplifting music, although there are many songs out there that are just bad for your soul and have no value in the Kingdom.  This song is a beautiful picture of the struggles we go through in life and yet we shouldn't veer off course.  The end game is far to valuable for us to steer away from our destiny.

Song - Learning To Be The Light

Growing up my mom would take me to gospel concerts, saying that I hated gospel music was an understatement, I still don't like it.  I did not know much about Christian music and only really remember liking Stryper, a rock band.  If you were like me and didn't get into the church music I hope you will listen to the music and lyrics of the songs now.  There is everything from ballads to heavy metal Christian bands.  There are many stations online so all you have to do is seek them out.

This is one of those songs that at the very start just about knocks me down as if a giant wave hits me out of nowhere.  Tears are easy to come by with this one.  The first section of this song is unlike the rest and it blows me away, it is music perfection in my book.  The music is fantastic and the lyrics are amazing.

Song - You Love Me Anyway

This is a song with great lyrics, in bold are my favorites parts.  Despite my faults, bad habits, and sin God loves be anyway.  At any time if I get too proud I think of the line that says I am Judas' kiss and that will set me right back down in my place.  What a beautiful song!

They rocked "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" a few weeks back.  This is one on my favorite songs.  The words are a "soul check."  Not just a great song, one that has depths waiting to be looked at, if only we will choose to do so.

Song - Jesus Friend of Sinners

I love the band Casting Crowns.  The words in their songs truly hit home.  One of my favorite lines in this song is "Lord I was the lost cause and I was the outcast."  If you don't listen to Christian music I hope you will give it a try.  I'm not a fan of old school gospel but I really love pop/rock Christian music.  I like to listen to www.wayfm.com or The Message on SiriusXM.
